The Songkran Festival
Date: 13th to 15th April
Venue : The people of Thailand welcome their traditional New Year by celebrating The Songkran Festival in mid April. It is also known as the water festival as people spray water and put powder on one another symbolizing washing away the sins from the past year. Devotee also bath and show The Phra Phuttha Sihing image before the public in Sanam Luang near the Grand Palace. The Miss Songkran beauty competition planned in Wisut Kasat region give a current touch to the partying.
